Artistic Director

Michelle Harris started dancing at the age of five in Western NY under the direction of Patricia Neal at the Dance Spectrum.  As a senior in high school Michelle was a soloist at the New York State Summer School for the Arts and continued her education at the University at Buffalo. She attended on a Talentship scholarship where she pursued a BFA in Dance.  After college Michelle performed for Carnival Cruise lines and Costa Cruise lines, then make her way to Branson to perform in several shows including Dino's Christmas Extravaganza, Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat, Celebrate America and the Road to Rock.  Michelle has also choreographed for several shows in Branson, MO and has been seen on stage as a judge for Dancing with the Branson Stars.  Michelle opened MWDR in 2007 and has been teaching professional classes to children and adults for an entire decade.  During this time she has also judged for many National and Regional Competitions, including Mascarade, Talent on Parade, and Starpower.  She also taught at Drury University where she helped develop a dance minor for the Theater Department.  Michelle has also taught master classes across the US for Dance Masters of America, Talent on Parade, and several other studios and events. Many of her students have gone on to have successful careers in dance and theater. along with acquiring several college scholarships.  After taking a small sabbatical to grow her family, Michelle is excited to continue teaching and sharing her love and passion with the dancers in Nixa.
